Internship Program

The Career Bridge paid internship program, operated by Career Edge Organization, is designed to help overcome the systemic barrier many internationally qualified professionals face as a result of having no Canadian experience.

Career Bridge paid internship positions are mid-level professional positions designed to provide interns with meaningful Canadian work experience within a broad spectrum of non-regulated business functions including finance, marketing, IT, HR and engineering in the private, public and non-profit sectors.

Career Bridge paid internship positions last 4, 6, 9 or 12 months and offer a minimum stipend of $2,166.67/month.

Eligibility requirements for the Career Bridge paid internship program

To pre-register for the Career Bridge paid internship program, applicants must meet ALL the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Legally entitled to work in Canada
  2. Immigrated to Canada within the last three years
  3. Have a minimum of three years full-time international work experience in his/her professional field
  4. Be able to attend a pre-screening interview in person in downtown Toronto
  5. Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree from Canada 
  6. Lack paid work experience in his/her profession in Canada
  7. Able to demonstrate strong English business communication skills.

Federal Internship for Newcomers

The Federal Internship for Newcomers program was launched by the Government of Canada in October 2010 to assist newcomers in gaining Canadian work experience. The program offers newcomers the opportunity to acquire temporary work experience in fields relevant to their skills and experience.
