Call for Expressions of Interest for role of LIPC Chair
The Town of Smiths Falls is now recruiting individuals interested in taking on the role of Chair of the Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) Council.
The LIP Council acts as a strategic planning body that works to coordinate and enhance the integration of newcomers into the community. Desired qualifications of the LIPC Chair include:
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to individuals with previous chair experience;
• Familiarity with the Smiths Falls LIP Project;
• A resident of Smiths Falls or who lives within the 18 kilometre radius of the Smiths Falls LIP Project;
• Has the time necessary to meet the commitment of this volunteer position.
The term of the LIP Council Chair will be until March 31st, 2013, with the appointment subject to renewal.
Applications will be accepted up to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11th, 2012. (See application form and copy of Call for Expressions of Interest ad at right.)
