Recycling and Garbage

Recycling and Garbage

The Town of Smiths Falls  enhanced our waste management program in 2011 by reducing pick up to a three day schedule and increasing the number of recyclables in the program, especially plastics No. 1-7.  In 2011/12 we also introduced multiresidential recycling.

Gold & Blue Bins
Blue Bins - Fibres (paper products), Gold Bins - Containers (glass, plastics). Each week, you will alternate which bin you set out.

Swap Days
This program promotes reuse and will take place in June and August.

Goals
The Town of Smiths Falls is currently diverting 25 per cent of recyclables from the landfill. With this new program, we are aiming to increase this to 35 percent in the coming year.
