Recruitment of Additional Members for Local Immigration Partnership Work Groups
The Smiths Falls Local Immigration Partnership Council (LIPC) is a strategic planning body working to facilitate a collaborative and comprehensive approach to newcomer integration in the community. The LIPC will be developing a local settlement strategy and a corresponding implementation plan by March 31, 2012. To help meet these deliverables, work groups have been established on Economic Integration, Provision and Promotion of Services, Supportive Social Enviroment and Sustainability of the LIPC.
The LIPC is recruiting additional members with related experience or expertise for these work groups. Participants will be expected to attend two meetings, the first in July/August 2011 and a second in November/December 2011. During these meetings, work groups will generate recommendations for the LIPC regarding the collection of background information and strategies for addressing their respective focuses.
See attached announcement for further details on the work groups and contact information.
